A bug introduced in version 2.3.26 can intermittently cause crashes at machine boot time.  Thanks to the assistance of an affected customer, we were able to find and correct it.

Behavior: Normally if a crash occurs during boot, Windows recovers and boots successfully.  But if the crash happens several times in a row, the machine might show a Recovery screen or be stuck in a boot loop. 

What to do:

  • If you run any AuthLite software from 2.3.26 to 2.3.30 inclusive, please update to 2.3.31 or later. You can get the latest v2.3 Installer from the downloads page
  • If you run version 2.3.25 or older, this bug does not affect you.

This does not constitute a security issue, however due to the chance of causing machine boot problems we are creating this upgrade advisory.
